Compare the workflow
| You care about | FlashVoc | Anki |
|---|---|---|
| Getting started | Pick a prepared vocabulary course and level, then practice in the browser. | Create cards or choose a shared deck; the content depends on what you select. |
| Control | Course practice, quizzes and personal decks within the app’s supported fields. | Custom card layouts, review settings and desktop add-ons. |
| Audio and media | Course word and sentence audio; availability and source vary by course. | Cards support audio, images and video; media depends on your deck. |
| Platforms | Web app, including mobile browsers. | Free desktop app and AnkiDroid; paid AnkiMobile for iOS; AnkiWeb for sync. |
| Moving an Anki deck | Imports supported word/meaning fields from APKG or plain text. Review history, media, templates and cloze behavior do not transfer. | Keep using your Anki collection if its scheduling, templates or media are essential. |
Free access and cost
FlashVoc is in open beta and collects no payment. Guests can try A1 practice. A free account includes one permanently chosen level per course, three custom decks, up to 20 new words per course per day and a seven-day Insights trial. Premium is planned; the first 50 registered accounts keep full access free. Check the homepage for founding availability and read the current terms.
Anki’s computer version and AnkiDroid are free. AnkiMobile is a paid iOS app; check the official store link for your country’s current price. AnkiWeb sync is free.
Already happy with Anki?
Keep it if your custom cards, media, cloze notes or established review history are important. FlashVoc is an option for trying a prepared vocabulary course or using simpler word/meaning decks alongside it, not a complete Anki collection replacement.
Trying an import
Open My decks, choose Import from Anki, select an APKG or Notes in Plain Text export, then map fields and inspect the preview before saving. Imported cards start fresh. Current limits are 500 words per deck, 50 MB per package, 32 MB for the unpacked collection and 10,000 notes to inspect. Your source file is not modified.
